Terms of Use

Version 1 · Last updated: 31 October 2026

Imanana is meant to be a place where Muslims meet one another with respect and good adab. These terms govern how we use the platform together. By registering, you agree to them.

§ 1 Provider and scope

Imanana is operated by Muhammad Walid Naoufal (see Legal notice), hereinafter “we”. These terms apply to the use of the website and app at imanana.naoufal.de. How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy.

§ 2 What Imanana offers

Imanana is a free community platform. You can create a profile, publish posts and comments, create and attend groups and events, write messages and keep a private Muhasaba journal.

We strive for reliable operation but cannot guarantee constant availability. We may change, add or discontinue features if there is a valid reason and your legitimate interests are respected. Imanana may display advertising in the future to fund its operation; the details will then be set out in the Privacy Policy.

§ 3 Registration and account

§ 4 Community rules

Different opinions – including on religious questions and between different schools of law and currents of thought – are expressly welcome, as long as the discussion stays objective, respectful and polite. Criticise views, not people.

In particular, the following are not allowed:

§ 5 Your content

Your content belongs to you, and you are responsible for it. So that we can show it on Imanana, you grant us a simple, free right, limited to the platform, to store it, display it and adapt it technically for display (e.g. resizing images). This right ends when you delete the content or your account – except for messages that others have already received (they remain in their chat history until they are deleted automatically after 180 days).

Only upload content for which you hold the necessary rights.

§ 6 Reporting and moderation

Reporting: Members can report posts, comments and people via the report function in the app. Anyone – even without an account – can report illegal content to us via the contact form. Please state where the content is and why it is illegal. For reports via the form, we confirm receipt by email.

Review: We review reports promptly, carefully, objectively and without arbitrariness. If content violates the law or these terms, we may – depending on its severity and taking all circumstances into account – remove the content or restrict its visibility, issue a warning, suspend your account temporarily or, in the case of serious or repeated violations, suspend it permanently. If someone repeatedly submits obviously unfounded reports, we may temporarily withdraw their ability to report.

Statement of reasons: If we remove content of yours or restrict your account, we will tell you what we did and why – except in the case of obvious spam or if an authority prohibits us from doing so.

Appeal: You can appeal within six months via the contact form. We will then review the decision again and inform you of the result. Independently of this, you may take legal action. We do not use automated systems to moderate content.

If there is a suspicion of a criminal offence that threatens people's life or safety, we will inform the competent authorities.

§ 7 Termination

You can stop using Imanana at any time by deleting your account. This also deletes the groups and events you created – including other members’ posts in them. We may terminate the user agreement with two weeks' notice. In the case of serious violations of these terms or of the law, we may also suspend or delete your account without notice.

§ 8 Liability

Because Imanana is free of charge, we are liable only for intent and gross negligence. We are liable without limitation for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health and under the German Product Liability Act. Other members are responsible for their own content; we take action as soon as we become aware of illegal content.

§ 9 Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will inform you in the app and ask you to accept the new version. If you do not agree, you can delete your account; until then, the previous version continues to apply as far as we can still base the service on it.

§ 10 Final provisions

German law applies. If you are a consumer, you retain the protection of the mandatory provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence. Should any provision be invalid, the remaining provisions remain valid.
